Online retailer Expansys has unveiled a new tablet called the POV Mobii which looks a lot like the Advent Vega but costs significantly more than the DSGi bound model.
The device is currently only available on preorder from Expansys and costs £290. Like the Vega, which has already sold out, it comes with a Nvidia Tegra 250.
The latter is based on a dual core Cortex A9 processor running at 1GHz. There's 512MB RAM and 512MB onboard memory and a 10.1-inch 1024x600 capacitive touchscreen (lower pixel density compared to the iPad).
Other features include Wi-Fi, HDMI out, two speakers, a front facing 1.3-megapixel camera, USB port, a microSD card slot and a 3300mAh battery which should power the tablet for around six hours.
POV (Point of View) appears to be using the same ODM as the Advent Vega which means that it is likely that other will follow suit very soon which may well lead to some significant price cuts.
