Nokia C6-01 now available online

Mobile phone manufacturer Nokia budget C6-01 handset has gone on sale, directly from at a cost of £279.

Nokia’s C6-01 was announced Nokia World 2010 and is the budget version of the C7 with a 3.2-inch 16:9 AMOLED capacitive touch screen, an 8 megapixel camera with HD video recording capabilities, a 2GB microSD card and runs the latest Symbian^3 OS.

The C7-01 ships with a slightly larger 3.5-inch AMOLED touch screen, with the same 8MP camera and OS, only with 8GB of internal storage at a cost of £359.

The C6-01 has a similar rounded look and feel to the N97 handsets from a few years back, along with its smaller mini counterpart. Those Qwerty keyboard based handsets weren’t ideal for the consumer, but Nokia has now made improvements to make the C6-01 more attractive to buyers.

Social networking and messaging is key within the C6-01, with the three home screens delivering feeds from Facebook and Twitter along with notification messages too.

One Mobile Ring managed to capture a walkthrough of the Nokia C6-01 at its launch event in images, which can be seen here with a video walk through of its larger C7-01 counterpart, seen here.

Nokia’s C6-01 can be bought now SIM free and unlocked from their online retail store for £279, or for £219 on prepay from Vodafone, T-Mobile and O2 who also carry the phone on tariffs starting at £20 a month.
