News@10: Salesforce Appoints JP Rangaswami As Head Scientist, Richard Branson Announces iPad Magazine & European Broadband Speed

Salesforce has hired JP Rangaswami for the newly created position of chief scientist at the company. According to Salesforce, Rangaswami, who was previously employed with BT at the same position, will be responsible for pitching Salesforce's real-time, mobile and social cloud based apps to European customers and contribute to the general product strategy.

Virgin's Richard Branson will apparently launch an iPad only magazine in a bit to counteract the offer by archrival media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, whose News Corp is rumoured to make a similar announcement soon. The project known as ... "project" will go head to head against "the daily"

European broadband speeds have drastically improved over the last year according to a new study by the European Commission. The EC found that 14 per cent more broadband lines run at 10mbps compared to last year.

3 UK, has announced that it will be selling the iPad on subsidised contracts.
