Gran Turismo 5 has successfully knocked Call Of Duty: Black Ops off the top of the UK gaming charts.
The newest title in the car simulation series has been blighted by delays and setbacks on the road to its release but has launched to glowing reviews and strong retail sales.
Despite Black Ops selling a record number of copies on release, it has lost momentum and its hold on the charts, after a 42 per cent drop off in sales during the last week.
According to Tech Watch, the last Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 2, ruled the charts for nine weeks after its launch, whilst Black Ops has only been on top for two weeks.
Gran Turismo 5 is the only new title to break into the top ten this week and has also forced Assassins Creed Brotherhood down into third place, whilst Fifa 11 and Just Dance 2 hold fourth and fifth place respectively.
