Vodafone has announced plans to lower data roaming rates for its UK customers travelling in Europe.
According to BBC News, the company has introduced the Vodafone Day Traveller Plan, giving users an additional 25MB of data allowance when visiting the continent.
The new offer, set to be available from 1 December, will cover all Vodafone's countries in Europe, as well as Belgium, France, Austria and Switzerland.
The new roaming plan costs £2 per day, or users can sign up to it for £10 per month.
The company claims that the new tariff plan will be cheaper for both regular users and business customers, slashing bills whilst roaming by up to 60 per cent.
“We expect smartphone sales in Europe to grow from 32 per cent to more than 70 per cent by 2013 and we want to drive that growth with what we believe to be the best value market-leading roaming data package,” Vittorio Colao, chief executive of Vodafone said in a statement.
