Opera Mobile For Android To Get Flash and HTML5 Support

Opera Software is to introduce support for HTML5 and Flash on its Opera Mobile Android app.

In a blog post, the company said that HTML5 video and Flash are two of the most important updates coming to the app.

The company added that more updates will be announced soon.

Opera praised Google's Android mobile platform for having a modern user interface and a constant stream of new features.

However, the company also said: “But the new features often bring changes that are not compatible with the previous versions: libraries change name, library loading is different and so on. This is the reason why our installation package on the Android Market supports Android from version 1.6 on.”

Opera, which claims to offer one of the fastest web browsers on the planet, has failed to rise in the desktop war. However, the company's Opera Mobile web browser, which is available for multiple platforms such as iOS, Android and BlackBerry OS, is the most used mobile web browser in the world.
