Woow Digital To Launch Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread Tablet?

Japan-based Woow! Digital is set to become the first company to debut a tablet that comes with Android OS 2.3, a device which will be called "The One" like Neo and may give the iPad a run for its money.

According to the manufacturer, the tablet will be launched just in time for Christmas, well before the expected launch of the still-to-be named Motorola Tablet in January 2011 at CES in Las Vegas.

As for the specs, they remind us of the Advent Vega; a dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1GHz, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard memory, front and back cameras, a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with an WSVGA screen resolution, 3G, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth plus Android Tablet.

Apart from the fact that it will almost certainly run Gingerbread and Android OS 3.0 in due course.

A prototype is already available with prices expected to be around $500 or roughly £317, which is significantly higher than the Advent Vega. You can find pictures of the prototype here.
