In a concerted effort to get the Christmas tills ringing, Samsung is offering UK punters £200 worth of media if they buy a Galaxy Tab between now and the end of February.
And unlike most offers of this ilk, Samsung's seasonal carrot will actually allow purchasers to get their hands on some useful stuff.
The 'Entertainment Package' lets users choose 50 MP3 tunes from eMusic, 15 movies from Samsung Movies, seven games from developer Gameloft and five eBooks from WH Smith.
“We’ve used our strategic partnerships with leading brands to put together an entertainment package that will let people enjoy the Galaxy Tab straight away. We’re committed to offering the best entertainment experience as well as the best value and we wanted to give our customers even more to enjoy when they open a Galaxy Tab this Christmas,” said a Samsung spokesman in a Santa suit.
It's the kind of offer that might just tempt some tablet buyers away from Apple's larger and marginally cheaper iPad which has so far hogged the proddable PC market, holding a 95 per cent slice of the pie.
If you find a Galaxy Tab in your stocking this Yule, you will also find a unique IMEI code, either on the back of the handset or by dialling *#06#, which can be redeemed at Samsung's Galaxy Tab web site.
The offer runs from December 8th to February 28th
