Samsung has announced that it has sold one million Galaxy Tab devices worldwide since launch.
According to tech news site eWeek, a Samsung spokesperson confirmed that the Galaxy Tab, touted as the first real rival to Apple's iPad, has sold one million units within 2 months after its launch. However, the spokesperson failed to detail the regions in which the tablet device had performed the best.
Samsung had sold 600,000 units in the two weeks before the Thanksgiving sales rush, which had resulted in a huge jump in sles for the device.
The one million mark is good news for Samsung as the company was planning to reach this milestone by the end of this year.
The device, which is offered by all major wireless carriers in the US and the UK, still has a long to way to go if it wants to catch up with the iPad, which sold 2 million units in two months and has now surpassed the 4 million sales mark.
