Apple Publishes Best Apps Of 2010 List

Apple has released lists of the best-selling, most popular and downloaded iPhone and iPad apps on its iTunes App Store.

According to PC Magazine, Apple named Hipstamatic as the iPhone app of the year and Plants vs. Zombies was named the iPhone game of the year.

The company also awarded Flipboard the iPad app of the year, while Osmos for iPad was named the iPad game of the year.

Angry Birds, Doodle Jump, and Skee-Ball were named as the most downloaded paid apps for the iPhone. Rovio's Angry Birds was also among the top grossing apps on the iPhone along with Call of Duty: Zombies, and Bejeweled 2 + Blitz.

On Apple's iPad iTunes store, Apple's Pages word processing application, GoodReader for the iPad and Numbers spreadsheet applications were the top three apps downloaded by the users of the popular tablet device.

Books, Pandora Radio, Netflix, Google Mobile App, and Solitaire were among the top free apps for the iPad on iTunes.
