Call Of Duty: Black Ops Holds Off World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm To Stay Top

Call of Duty: Blacks Ops has managed to retain its position at the top of the UK all formats gaming chart despite mounting pressure from FIFA 11 and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

The new expansion for the record breaking MMORPG World of Warcraft, Cataclysm, entered the UKIE/GfK-ChartTrack All Formats gaming chart at number three. Initially, the PC-only game was selling faster than CoD, but eventually tailed off allowing Treyarch's FPS to retain top spot and EA's FIFA 11 to hold on to second place.

According to CVG, other big names on the chart Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Gran Turismo 5 fell one place from last week, finishing at fourth and fifth respectively.

Just Dance dropped to sixth and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit retained seventh. Donkey Kong Country Returns rose from 13th to eighth, and Professor Layton and the Lost Future swapped placed with Wii Fit Plus to round off the top 10.
