Search giant Google has announced a string of updates to its Android Market aimed at improving the end user and developer experience on the platform.
In an Android Developers blog post, the company said that the updates will improve the merchandising of applications, enhance the browse-to-purchase experience and allow developers to easily distribute their applications.
Google has introduced a new carousel to the home and category screens, which will allow users to quickly browse through the application and go to the downloads page immediately. The company has also included two new categories, Widgets and Live Wallpapers.
Tweaks have been made to the user interface that will allow users to get all the information about a particular application from a single page, without the need to navigate over several pages.
The company commented that: "With this release, we aimed to deliver features that are most requested by users and developers. However, we're not done yet. We plan to continue to rapidly enhance Android Market for both users and developers and make it the best content distribution service for the Android ecosystem."
