Business consultancy firm Accenture has launched its own apprenticeship programme for its UK BPO staff.
According to Computer Weekly, the company is offering apprenticeship courses to 1,300 BPO employees, out of which, around 250 will become new recruits over a period of two years
The company aims to provide apprenticeship courses to its employees in the field of IT, business administration and team management, with new categories set to be added in spring next year.
Accenture is also supporting Greater London Authority's scheme to encourage businesses in London to provide apprenticeship to around 20,000 people in the area.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said in a press release: “We are making great strides towards creating thousands of new apprenticeships across a range of different businesses, many of which are new to the concept. London’s financial sector will be crucial to achieving and even exceeding our goal.”
