Dabs is selling the HP Proliant N36L Microserver for as little as £112.07 including delivery, almost half the suggested retail price of £222.07.
The Proliant N36L is a fully-fledged computer, one with a dual core processor, 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard disk drive as well as onboard RAID, error checking and correction memory plus a security lock.
Although it bears the label "microserver", it does offer two expansion slots, support for four non swappable hard disk drives, space for an optical space and a Gigabit Ethernet port.
Operating at only 22 dBA noise level, it is quiet enough to be used as a media computer as well, an interesting option helped by the fact that it comes with a built-in Radeon HD4200 graphics module allowing it to play recent games (at low resolutions) and decode full HD content.
Unlike most servers, it also boosts six USB ports, an external eSATA port plus a VGA port and possibly consumes less power, as a unit, compared to some server processors we've seen in the past.
