The update introduced changes to the user interface and has tweaked the browsing capabilities of the service.

Google has also improved the Netflix app on the platform, bringing a better user interface as well as enhanced video streaming. Users will also be able to add movies and shows to their DVD-by-mail list from within the app.

The move to update the Netflix app will be welcome to those critical of the last version of the app, which according to CNET, was accused of being primitive and inadequate. Google TV has also updated its systems, allowing users to resize videos while surfing and view a movie results page.

Google has additionally introduced a remote control app for Android based devices, allowing Android smartphone owners to change channels and access the recording system. The app will also include a voice search feature.
