Twitter has raised another $200 million in the last round of funding led by venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
According to Bloomberg, the latest round of funding has valued the company at $3.7 billion.
Twitter has now raised around $370 million since it started in 2007, the Press Association reports.
The micro-blogging giant has seen a meteoric rise in growth over the past 12 months, with users sending a total of 25 billion tweets and more than 100 million new users joining the platform.
The confidence shown by its investors in giving sufficient funding has allowed Twitter to further develop the platform by enhancing its workforce and introducing new products, such as a new advertisement platform.
Twitter also added successful entrepreneurs Mike McCue and David Rosenblatt to its board of directors.
The company said in a blog post: “The experience these new directors bring to Twitter, along with this renewed investment, will help us continue to grow as a company and business.”
