Blizzard Confirms Project Titan

Blizzard Entertainment, the makers of World Of Warcraft and StarCraft, have confirmed that a new Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game nicknamed Project Titan is in the works.

A Blizzard release schedule was recently leaked confirming Titan is to be released in the third quarter of 2013. The schedule also revealed that Blizzard is working on two new World of Warcraft expansion packs and Diablo III, which is set to be launched in late 2011.

Frank Pearce, Blizzard’s senior VP and co-founder, when asked by Destructoid about the project at the 2010 VGAs, said: “Titan is... the media is not meant to know anything about that.”

“We've only started talking about it in a limited fashion because we want to leverage the fact that we're working on something like that for the purpose of recruiting - getting some of the best talent in the industry on that project.”

Pearce didn’t confirm any further details about the game, but it is speculated that it will be a sci-fi-based Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter (MMOFPS).
