Sony Ericsson Playstation Android Phone To Launch April 1st

When launching a product as game changing as the first true Android-based gaming phone, a large number of cogs are needed to make things run smoothly.

Yesterday, one of them came to us and confirmed that the Sony Ericsson Playstation smartphone which will be based on Android will be launched on the 1st of April 2011.

Our source confirmed that the April date dovetailed with the March announcement we published earlier where the phone will be presented to the general public.

April will be when the phone will be widely available to the public for sale and the person added, "It's not an April fool" before saying that "everything has been signed off".

Whether or not the phone will be presented in March possibly at Cebit in Germany and then launched in April remains to be seen.

You can find out more about the phone, what hardware it uses, videos of it as well as other details by reading our previous news coverage here.
