The US International Trade Commission has agreed to hear Motorola Mobility's patent infringement complaint against Microsoft, the regulator has said.
According to Reuters, the company, which will spin-off from parent company Motorola Inc. next year, has complained that Microsoft has infringed on some of its patented technology by using them in its highly popular Xbox 360 console.
Motorola Mobility, which has filed similar patent infringement lawsuits against the software giant in district courts of Wisconsin and Florida, has asked the ITC to ban Microsoft from importing the infringing products to the United States.
The ITC informed that “The USITC's Chief Administrative Law Judge will assign the case to one of the USITC's six administrative law judges (ALJ), who will schedule and hold an evidentiary hearing.”
After the ALJ has made his decision, the commission will review it and announce the final verdict up to 45 days after the judge has announced the judgement.
