Exclusive : Nintendo 3DS Launching On 18th March 2011 In UK?

At least one online retailer has started to take preorders for the Nintendo 3DS and has confirmed that the 3D portable gaming console will be released on the 18th of March 2011, nearly one year after it was announced.

GameGears currently allows users to "register" their interest and list the Nintendo 3DS as carrying a recommended retail price of £199.99 with the e-tailer selling it for £194.99.

The console will be available in red, blue and black with free delivery on all orders. The new 3DS will cost around 20 per cent more than the Nintendo DSi XL console and 50 per cent more than the DSi model.

A number of 3DS games are also expected to be launched on the 18th of March; these include Okamiden, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Driver: Renegade, Hollywood 61, Resident Evil Mercenaries, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles and around a dozen other titles.

Nintendo will have a 3DS preview event on the 19th of January where the President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, is expected to reveal more about the gaming device.

Meanwhile, it looks as if the Germans will have it first as Gamestop.de is currently offering the device on preorder for a jaw-dropping 999 Euros.
