One Mobile Ring predictions for 2011

One Mobile Ring is taking a look at the coming year in the world of mobile phones and devices, whilst being ready to lay down their predictions of what's coming over the next 12 months.

1 - Tablets

Tablet computers had a big impact within 2010, with the success of the Apple iPad and we also saw the potential of the Android OS on devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab. One Mobile Ring is expecting to see more tablet computers, from many different hardware manufactures and in different screen sizes, between the Dell 5-inch Streak and the iPad's 9.7-inch display - where many companies have already shown an interest within tablets, from LG to HTC. These new devices could be appearing as soon as the end of this week at Las Vegas' Consumer Electronics Show (CES), or early next month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

2 - Dual Core

Mobile phones and mobile devices have gotten faster and faster of late, where it's set to get even faster in 2011. LG announced at the end of 2010 the world's first dual core mobile phone, with twin processors driving the LG Optimus 2X. One Mobile Ring believes this won't be the last dual-core mobile device we'll see in this coming year, where companies other than LG will be producing faster mobile products based on the twin processor design - besides the single core, which is expected to move beyond 1Ghz to 1.2Ghz and above.

3 - Android

Google's mobile platform saw a good year in 2010, with devices appearing from every phone manufacture you can think of. We are expecting to see even more handsets this year, where Android ‘Gingerbread' 2.3 and Android ‘Honeycomb' will have a big impact on the mobile phone world and also in mobile devices too. Android we suspect will find its way on to much more affordable phones, where Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini range was very popular and at a lower cost for a smartphone.

4 - A new Apple iPhone

The summer of 2010 saw the iPhone 4 arriving, with a new form factor, a better screen quality than seen in previous handsets, a fast processor and a new improved operating system. The mobile phone wasn't without its problems though, with the antenna being just one of them and the iPhone 4's clock causing issues over the new year. There has been a new Apple iPhone every year since 2007, where we're expecting this year to follow suit with a new iPhone this summer although what it might bring is anyone's guess at this point.

5 - One Mobile Ring

One Mobile Ring will be here in 2011 to bring you the latest news in the mobile phone world, with more reviews and features than ever before - with regular week days for the larger, more wordier content to appear.
