Opera comes to large touch screen devices

Popular web browser developers Opera is bringing out a touch screen version of their software, for use with tablets and netbooks.

Opera for tablets will be aired for the first time this week at Las Vegas' CES, with elements already seen in their software for touch screen mobile phones.

The company's web browsing software is well-known for enhancing the Internet surfing experience on mobile devices, due to the webpage compression techniques used before they're delivered to Opera - which both cuts down on webpage loading times and the amount of data used.

Check out the video below, which highlights the new version of Opera in its first public preview running on an Android Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Clearly shown in the video is the software's multi-touch features, along with smooth scrolling on graphic heavy websites and in a way the bundled in web browser doesn't always preform.
