Digg founder Kevin Rose has predicted that Apple may launch the highly anticipated iPad 2 in the next 3-4 weeks.
In a blog post, he said: “I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next '3-4 weeks', possibly Tuesday February 1st. The iPad 2 will feature a retina display and front/back cameras,” he said, although was later informed by a further source that the retina display may actually just be a higher DPI.
Rose also advised people to hold-off from buying an original iPad until the newer device is launched.
The comments coincide with the news that Apple is restricting leave to its retail employees for the next 3-4 weeks, indicating that the company is preparing for a major product launch.
Apple has also retained a number of the temporary employees it hired for the holiday season. It is still not clear however if Apple will launch single or multiple products, with rumours suggesting that the company may launch an iPhone with US network provider Verizon tomorrow.
