A number of UK retailers are taking advance orders for Nintendo's forthcoming glasses-free 3D hand-held console, the 3DS.
Woolworth's and WHSmith, which are part of the same retail group, The Hut, have pegged the eye-boggling gadget at £300 with the caveat that the price is subject to change when Nintendo announces the official price.
Play.com and Amazon are both letting potential punters register their interest but haven't had a stab at the price, according to MCV.
Quite why those retailers are hedging their bets so broadly remains to be seen, as most pundits expect the dual-screen device to hit Euroepan shops in the last week in March with a £200 to £230 price tag.
The real numbers will be announced at a special Nintendo event due to take place in Amsterdam on January 19th.
If buyers at The Hut turn out to know something the rest of don't, and the 3DS is launched at anything like £300, we reckon there will be some pretty short queues come launch day.
