The HTC Desire is reaching its end of life as a number of online mobile retailers have started to cut the monthly cost of the phone to a mere £15.32 per month on a two year contract.
Dial A Phone for example is selling the HTC Desire White for a total cost of ownership of £367.68 over 24 months.
For that price, you get 100 minutes, 100 texts and 500MB worth of data on T-Mobile plus free delivery. Given that the SIM-free version of the phone is on sale for £367.65 at Expansys and Ebuyer, the Dial-A-phone deal is an excellent one.
Even if the HTC Desire is one year old, it is still a damn capable handset that was one of the first superphones on the market. It has a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display, the HTC Sense interface and a 1GHz Qualcomm processor.
As expected, it runs on Eclair and has a 5-megapixel camera; you can also upgrade it to Froyo, which means that you will get full Adobe Flash support plus the ability to use it as a wireless hotspot.
