Notion Ink Adam Awaits Approval From CE and FCC

Notion Ink's Adam tablet device will soon finally ship to the UK and US - that is providing it gets the thumbs up from the US Federal Communication Commission and a CE mark from The EU.

In a blog post, Notion Ink CEO Rohan Shravan said that the device was being delayed as it awaits approval from CE and the FCC. Although he did add that it passed all the tests so it shouldn't be too long before the device starts shipping to Europe.

“As such there are no official (as per our record and few online sources) there are no hardware restrictions, and when Honeycomb is available, we will send updates as soon as possible,” Shravan said.

The Adam is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 2.1 Ghz processor and comes with a camera that can rotate 185 degrees and is packed with Adobe Flash support along with USB and HDMI capabilities, the device runs on an optimised version of Google's Android 2.2 Eden.

Following the launch of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb at the CES, the company is planning to release a Honeycomb update soon.
