Google is preparing to move aggressively into Near Fields Communications (NFC), market hiring experts predict.
Since the company launched support for NFC technology in its latest version of Android - 2.3 Gingerbread - it has been vying to expand its presence in the market, before the technology becomes popular in US and European markets.
Smartphones compatible with NFC can be used to make mobile payments in restaurants, shops and other places of commerce by simply swiping the device on the payments counter.
In order to enhance its team of NFC experts, the company has posted a job requirement for a Technical Account Manager who is familiar with the technology, Phone Arena informs.
Google said in the job post that the candidate should have: “At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Internet products and technologies, and knowledge of one or more of the following: NFC/RFID technologies, different chipset ISO specifications, integration with POS readers & systems and payment processing, techGooglenical implementation of merchant loyalty, coupon or incentive programs.”
