Mobile phone network Three is to carry two more tablet devices, the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Linx Commtiva N700.
Three has announced from their ‘Coming Soon’ page on their website they will be carrying the Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2 based Samsung Galaxy Tab and Linx Commtiva N700 tablet, which will join the Apple iPad on the network.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab has a 7-inch WSVGA TFT touch screen, with a 1Ghz processor, a 3 megapixel camera at the rear and 1.3 at the front, along with 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot.
Linx’s Commtiva N700 tablet also has a 7-inch 1024x600 touch display, with a 600Mhz CPU, a 3 megapixel camera and is bundled with a 4GB microSD card.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab is the more higher-end model out of the two, where the Linx comes in at more than £100 less if purchased from the likes of Amazon.
Other mobile phone networks carry the Galaxy Tab on a tariff, with Orange retailing the device at the low price of £199 on a £25 a month contract – which is accompanied by a 1GB anytime data allowance, another 1GB to be used off-peak with unlimited BT OpenZone WIFI access.
One Mobile Ring expects the two tablets will be priced very competitively on a contract, with a very generous data allowance where Three offers the iPad at a low price of £199 with a 15GB data allowance and Orange really only offers 2GB.
