The white version of the Apple iPhone 4 smartphone may be launched as early as March 2011, matching earlier claims that the phone would land in spring 2011.
A source told Pocketlint that the phone would go on sale in UK shops by the end of March. Apple said last year that "white models of Apple's new iPhone 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year".
Steve Wozniak, Apple's co-founder, said that the white parts of the iPhone 4 ruined the camera's flash adding that the pictures taken were like being taken through a cellophane.
The launch of the white iPhone 4 will coincide with the UK debut of a number of next generation handsets like the LG Optimus 2X, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc.
A more pressing issue though is the fact that the iPhone 5 is expected to be launched on the 6th of June, three months later with global availability within weeks.
Will customers choose to buy the white iPhone 4 or wait till the white iPhone 5 comes out?
