Software giant Microsoft has released the preview version of its upcoming Windows Small Business Server 2011.
The new Small Business Server version comes with updated Microsoft enterprise products and enhanced employee remote access capabilities, designed to reduce the burden of managing IT operations in a small organisation.
The SBS 2011, which is based on the Windows Server 2008 release two, comes with software that allows organisations to manage employee e-mails, file-sharing clients and calenders. IT administrators will also able to control access to the Internet, security and Windows updates.
According to Computer World, two versions of the server will be available - Standard and Essentials.
The Standard version will be able to support 75 users, will come with support for Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Services 2010 Microsoft Exchange Server to handle worker e-mails and can back up business data on its server.
The Essentials edition is good for 25 users, will offer a hosted e-mail service and can back up data from user PCs.
Microsoft is yet to announce when the full version will be released.
