3 UK has joined the four other mobile phone operators as it confirmed that it will be selling the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, the first Android handset dedicated to gaming.
Sylvia Chind, Three’s Head of Branded Devices said in a press statement that they were "eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA play" which they believe "celebrates a further step change in the way in which consumers use data, merging mobile communications and entertainment."
She added that "The Sony Ericsson XPERIA play is perfect for gamers but above all, it’s a top-of-the-range smartphone which is why we are so excited to be ranging it on our award winning network.”
O2, Vodafone, Everything Everywhere (Orange and T-Mobile) will also sell the phone which was officially announced only a few days ago (check our full coverage here) and will be formally presented on the 13th of February, on the eve of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
We expect the handset to be available from around £500 on SIM Free with a contract price starting from £35 per month on a two year period.
