With digital brawlers awaiting the release of upcoming fighter Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with bated breath, many have been eyeing up the branded arcade sticks and controllers - but it appears they're going to be a US-only deal.
According to games retailer GamingZap, the recently announced Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Tournament Edition Fightstick and the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Xbox Controller won't be reaching our shores in time for the release of the game.
The controllers, which feature remapped layouts specifically designed for arcade-style fighting games and custom decals taken from the game's concept artwork, have had gamers drooling since their announcement. The news that they're a US-only treat is likely to come as a real blow to UK gamers.
Although the game's publishers have yet to officially comment on the matter, GamingZap claims that the unavailability is due to "licensing issues and various other problems," and advises gamers to look towards other arcade sticks and controllers if they want to get the best experience out of the game.
As a tantalising glimpse into what could have been, here's what US gamers will be getting their hands on come release day:
With publisher Capcom promising some innovative new features in this latest title - including a 'prison' for those who rage-quit from multiplayer matches - lets hope the licensing issues, whatever they might be, are sorted promptly.
