US mobile phone retailer Wirefly has listed the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play as being available across the pond on Verizon, which is partly owned by Vodafone.
According to PhoneArena, Verizon customers may face a tough choice given that the Verizon iPhone 4 has just launched on the network and the iPhone 5 is only four months away from now.
The Xperia Play is expected to come with a Qualcomm system on chip, 512MB RAM, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 854x480 pixels, a front facing camera and a slide out game controller with the usual Sony PSP layout.
The phone will be launched this Sunday, on the eve of the opening of the Mobile World Congress, at 1800 local time in Barcelona in one of the poshest nigh clubs in town.
In the UK, all five main mobile phone operators have confirmed that they will be selling the Xperia Play with a slew of pricing details likely to emerge next week.
