Gearbox Software and 2K Games have given the media the sneak peak of the highly awaited Duke Nukem Forever video game at an event in Las Vegas.
Thirteen years have passed since the last Duke Nukem was launched, and many an expectant gamer feared that one of the most iconic video game characters of all time would never be seen again.
Randy Pitchford, CEO and president of Gearbox and executive producer of DNF, said during the press event: “This is probably the biggest unresolved deep tension in the video game industry. We're very excited gamers will finally get their hands on it.”
“He's become iconic, someone important to video game culture -- whenever you think male action video game characters, you think Duke, and there hasn't been a game starring him in a long time,” he added.
Duke Nukem Forever will be hit shelves in the US on 3 May, and will be available elsewhere from 6 May.
