Red Hat And Fujitsu Team For Cloud Service Launch

Open source software firm Red Hat has extended its on-going partnership with IT firm Fujitsu to launch a public cloud service.

Under the partnership, Red Hat will offer its Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS as a guest operating system on Fujitsu's On-Demand Virtual System Service which is based on a public cloud.

Both Red Hat and Fujitsu customers will be able to gain access to enterprise-class Red Hat software on trusted Fujitsu infrastructure.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux is a time-proven platform that allows customers to access applications that offer greater flexibility and scalability. Fujitsu's On-Demand Virtual System Service offers a virtualised ICT infrastructure, including storage, server and security features.

Scott Crenshaw, vice president and general manager, Cloud Business Unit at Red Hat, said in a statement: “The availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Fujitsu's 'On-Demand Virtual System Service' offers enterprises a strong foundation on which to extend to the cloud that combines the unique expertise of two industry leaders.”
