Apple's iPhone 4 has been awarded the 'best mobile device' title at the Mobile World Congress taking place in Barcelona.
Rival HTC on the other hand walked away with the best device manufacturer of the year award at the conference.
According to PC Mag, Apple iPhone 4, despite its critical antenna flaw, was chosen for the prestigious GMA award because of its “great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers.”
Apple iPhone 4 was singled out following a multi-hour conference call meeting between the panel of judges, which comprised of analysts and journalists from around the world.
The choice of HTC as device manufacturer of the year was because it "has built its market presence from nowhere, with fresh branding and marketing and a strong portfolio of devices across many platforms," in view of the judges.
Meanwhile, Rovio's Angry Birds game was chosen for the best mobile app award at the Global Mobile Awards along with the best mobile app on the iOS platform award.
“This is an application that is simple, intuitive, incredibly addictive, and perfect for 'snacking' consumption. It has underlined the importance of the applications market, and helped raise the credibility of small independent developers outside the mainstream,” the judges said while pronouncing their judgement.
