Mobile phone manufacturer Motorola Mobility has announced in Barcelona’s MWC event their BlackBerry-esque Pro device, an Android touch screen based mobile with a Qwerty keyboard.
The Motorola Pro was first unveiled in America back in November, only under the Driod Pro brand name with ‘Driod’ being the USA equivalent for the Motorola Milestone in the UK.
The Pro is essentially the Milestone 2, in a candy bar form factor with the same corporate feel. Motorola’s Milestone 2 has a slide-out vertical keyboard with an on-board virtual version via the screen, where the Motorola Pro just has its Qwerty keyboard built-in under the screen and in the look of a BlackBerry handset of yesteryear.
Motorola’s Pro screen is of the 3.1-inch variety, where the Milestone 2 has a 3.7-inch display where both run from Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2, with the same 1Ghz processor, 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and expandability in the form of a 32GB microSD card.
The Moto mobile phone is once again aimed at the business world, with Exchange access, corporate-level security and preloaded apps in the form of Quickoffice.
