Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S II smartphone, which was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, is now available in pre-order in the UK. The phone, which being offered by eXpansys, has been given a price of £649.99 for the 16GB sim-free version.
Online retailer eXpansys has listed April 18th as the estimated release date for the powerful incarnation of the highly successful Samsung Galaxy S device.
The smartphone comes with a dual core processor that clocks at 1GHz, 1GB RAM, an 8 MP camera with LED flash and high definition video recording and a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display.
However, Samsung fans have been disappointed with the smartphone's £650 price tag, a factor that could harm its prospects. Industry watchers believe that pre-order prices are, as usual, bloated and it will most likely come down once the phone has been released on the market.
The device also comes equipped with Samsung Voice Solutions that will allow users to open apps, manage emails, messaging and social media by simply speaking into the phone. Samsung has also included a powerful voice translation tool that gives audio and text translations of words spoken into the phone in a wide range of languages.
