Mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse is to solely carry the HTC Incredible S, when the handset arrives in March.
The Incredible S is the successor to the original Incredible handset, although that mobile never made it across the ocean and only appeared on the Verizon network.
The first model boasted a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen, with that display technology being controversially dropped by HTC last year in favour of Super LCD. There were rumours at that time surrounding the maker of the former screens were unable to keep up with the demand, hence the need and then the move to find an alternative display.
The Incredible S now has 4-inch capacitive touch screen, running from the new MSM8255 Qualcomm chipset with a 1GHZ processor and the updated 205 Adreno GPU. Verizon's mobile phone came with 8GB of internal storage, whereas the Incredible S only tips up with 1.1GB with access to the same microSD slot for expandability.
HTC's Incredible S ships with Android 'Froyo' 2.2 and the HTC Sense overlay, although the handset can support Google's 'Gingerbread' 2.3 and possibly the 'Icecream' 2.4 platform.
This is only the second time in recent history that Carphone Warehouse has acted like a mobile phone network in exclusively carrying a handset, where the last time around was the Samsung manufactured Google Nexus S.
