Taiwanese mobile phone manufacture High Tech Computer Corporation has had its recently announced HTC Flyer tablet appear on Amazon in Germany, with a cost of 699 Euros.
HTC’s first ever tablet device is now up for pre-order with Amazon.de, where although there’s no date attached for its arrival there’s now an estimated retail price of around £585 SIM free and unlocked.
The HTC Flyer runs from a 7-inch 1024x600 TFT screen, with a 1.5GHz processor and a 5 megapixel camera, 32GB of internal storage with the Google mobile OS and the HTC Sense overlay.
HTC’s Flyer has already had its fair share of critics, as the device will arrive running Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2 where Android ‘Honeycomb’ 3.0 is specifically geared up for tablet devices.
HTC who are thought of as leaders in the mobile industry appear to have let this one slip, whilst the likes of Motorola could very well be the first company with a Honeycomb based tablet. HTC were also devoid of a dual-core offering at Mobile World Congress, where their competition arrived at the show with powerful processor phones.
