Dell has finally launched the Windows 7 based Venue Pro smartphone device in the UK, available from the computer maker's website for £459 for the SIM-free version.
The device, which comes with a slide out Qwerty keyboard, is targeted towards the enterprise market in the UK and comes with key office productivity functions that separate the device from Apple, Google and RIM.
Dell has included the Microsoft Office Hub on the device, which will allow enterprise users to create, edit and share Microsoft Office files on their smartphone device and sync them with the Microsoft SharePoint website.
The company said that the Venue Pro will come with a large 4.1-inch Amoled touch screen and will be powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which when coupled with 1GB Flash memory and 512MB DDR SDRAM promises 'power-packed performance'. The device also comes with a non-removable 16 GB SD card.
The Windows Phone 7 device sports a 5 MP camera, support for Microsoft Exchange, Wi-Fi, 3G and bluetooth.
Aongus Hegarty, the vice president for consumer, small and medium businesses for Europe at Dell, said “No matter your requirements, the Dell Venue Pro with Windows Phone 7 brings a fresh approach of doing more with less. The Venue Pro truly mixes business with pleasure and is the perfect phone for those who appreciate the work/life balance.”
