Server virtualisation firm Citrix Systems has made its first seed investment in Primadesk, a start-up that allows customers to manage their personal cloud data from a single interface.
The investment has been made under the Citrix Startup Accelerator, the company's seed investment arm that was started back in December 2010. The company refrained from disclosing the amount of the investment.
The Citrix Startup Accelerator is focused on providing participating companies with seed investments, office space at an innovation centre and access to Citrix technologies.
California based Primadesk, which was founded in 2009, will be demonstrating the beta version of its web based tool at the DEMO Spring 2011 conference in Palm Desert, California.
Primadesk explained that its software will let users search, manage and back-up the data stored on private clouds from one single web-based interface.
The beta version of the platform, which will be available in March, will let users search, view, reply and send email across several popular email services like Gmail and social networking platforms like Facebook, the company said.
Srinivasa Venkataraman, CEO & Founder of Primadesk, said, “Primadesk gives users a simple way to manage their personal and professional information from any browser at any time, which fits right into the Citrix vision of enabling anyone to work and play anywhere on any device.”
