Xbox 360 Gamers Spend On Average £64 Monthly, Survey Shows

Microsoft has revealed that 13 per cent of Xbox 360 customers spend more than a £100 buying games for the platform every month.

The statistics are part of a survey conducted by the software giant's advertising arm, Microsoft Advertising, which showed that on average, an Xbox 360 customer spends around £64 every month.

Microsoft polled 251 Xbox 360 gamers across the UK aged between 25 and 34 years. The company said that gamers played an average of seven different games on their Xbox consoles in a month.

The company also said that 83 per cent of Xbox gamers played games at least 3 to 4 times per week while as much as 41 per cent claimed to be playing on the console 3 to 4 hours every day.

Microsoft Advertising’s head of research for data and analytics Julie Forey said in a statement to MCV, “Compared against the average male, gamers represent an attractive proposition for marketers.”

“Earning a higher wage, being advocates of premium goods and over half playing for more than three hours each day, this provides firms with a profile from which they can base their message,” she added.

The survey also reveals that the most popular games on the platform were shooters, followed by racing games and RPGs.
