Apple has sent an email to all those who have registered to buy the iPad 2 tablet in the US, directly from the store, on Friday, March 11.
The mass email, which was sent earlier today, says that the store doors will be opened at 5pm on that day and that there will be no pre-orders taken for the device as well.
The device reads "The Apple Retail Store is the best place to experience iPad. Our Specialists will show you around the features, help you choose the perfect model and set everything up just the way you like. So you’ll be up and running before you leave the store.”
Other stores like Target, Wal-Mart, Verizon, Best Buy, AT&T or Verizon are likely to have the tablet in stock which means that queueing up to get them might not be a Sine Qua Non requirement to get one within a few hours of launch.
The iPad 2 will be released to many more countries towards the end of the month, on the 25th of March, and like last year, stocks will be thinly distributed across the many DSGi, CPW and Best Buy stores in the country.
The tablet, was launched last week, during a special event held in San Francisco; it is an evolution of the iPad with only a few differences (thickness, CPU, GPU, cameras).
