Those lucky enough to fly tomorrow to the US might grab the iPad 2 while they're there as Apple has confirmed that the tablet will go on sale online from Apple.com as early 1am PT, that's 9am tomorrow morning UK time.
The tablet will also be available at 5pm local time across all 236 Apple stores in the United States as well as AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon Wireless, Walmart and select Apple authorized resellers.
Apple has also confirmed that customers buying the iPad 2 from an Apple retail store will be offered a free personal setup service which will allow them to customised their iPad 2 instore by setting up email, apps and more.
This was what caused long queues during the previous launches which means that it might be preferable to buy your iPad from the other resellers to avoid the crowd and the queues.
The new iPad costs between $499 and $829 depending on connectivity and storage capacity; it will be available in the UK as well as a number of countries from the 25th of March.
Contrary to the competition, the iPad 2 will be launched only eight days after it was announced. We're still waiting for the Playbook from RIM almost six months after it was announced while the Motorola XOOM, the EEE Slate, the HP Touch Pad and the HTC Flyer have yet to get confirmed release dates.
