Survey Shows UK Demand For iPad 2 Likely To Be Higher Than US

The results of a survey carried out by price comparison website Pricegrabber reveals that a bigger percentage of consumers in the UK are likely to buy the new iPad 2 within the month of release.

Of the 1854 online respondents that answered the survey in the UK between the 9th of February and the 1st of March, a fifth said that they plan to buy the iPad 2 within the first year with nearly a third confirming that they will do so within the first month.

In comparison, while the percentage of respondents in the US saying that they will buy the iPad 2 in the first 12 months is higher at 23 per cent, just over a quarter say that they will buy the tablet in the first month itself. The US survey was carried out between the 16th of February and the 1st of March with 8794 respondents involved.

One possible explanation regarding the difference between the two countries is that more of the US respondents were aware of the launch of the iPad 2 as the tablet was launched just 10 days after the end of the survey and had a two weeks window.

The gadget will only be launched in the UK on the 25th of March, three weeks after the end of the survey and nearly six weeks after it started.
