The latest update to Mozilla's popular browser Firefox was downloaded 5 million times on its release date.
To put that into perspective, Microsoft's recently released Internet Explorer 9 managed a comparatively paltry 2.3 million downloads in its first 24 hours.
The IE team were apparently so impressed with its competitor's performance that they sent the guys at Firefox a congratulatory cake, which is nice.
Currently standing at just under 5.7 million, you can watch Firefox's live download counter, which really is rather pretty, here.
Available for download now, Firefox 4 adds improved HTML 5 and CSS support to a new look as well as the ability to view HD video in a browser window using WebM technology.
