Apple's iPad 2 has had a blockbuster launch in the UK, with the flagship store running out of the next generation iPad within 24 hours, and similar reports across the country.
The Apple stores in Regent Street and Covent Garden confirmed that the iPad 2 is out of stock. The stores were unaware when their supplies would be replenished, according to Pocket Lint.
Other stores in London selling the iPad 2 also confirmed that they had run out of the tablet pc over the weekend, including PC World, Carphone Warehouse and Curry's. Those looking to purchase the device via online order will be disappointed to know that the waiting time is around 3 to 4 weeks.
Pocket Lint editor Stuart Miles told Metro, “Whatever the reason, London has run out of iPad 2s. Our team scoured London and confirmed with Apple that they don’t even have supplies in their flagship Regent Street store or the new Covent Garden branch.”
“Add to this a three to four week waiting list for online orders, which means if you’re planning to get your hands on an iPad 2, don’t expect it to be any time soon,” he added.
Latest updates also report the iPad 2 is no longer available at Apple Stores in Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol and the whole of South-West England. In fact, it would appear device is not presently available at any store in the UK.
