Hewlett-Packard has launched its new CloudSystem partner program which will offer channel partners the training and tools necessary for cloud computing.
The new partner program, which is a part of HP's efforts to flex its muscles in cloud computing, is based on the company's expansive CloudSystem portfolio, which includes HP cloud computing products like CloudSystem Matrix, Cloud Maps and the Cloud Service Automation software.
The program, which was launched on the second day of the HP Americas Partner Conference in Las Vegas, will allow channel partners to offer the company's entire cloud portfolio and make money out of it, HP said. Partners will be able to offer hardware, software and services bundled together.
“One of the key aspects to making the cloud work is we need the software specialists really engaged, and to be blunt, many of our traditional partners don't have that software expertise. Those software partners can team up with more conventional VARs in this space,” Mike Galane, Senior Director of Channel Marketing and Strategy for Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking, said in a statement to eChannelLine.
Apart from introducing new certifications and partner benefits under the new program, HP has also announced that it will be expanding its Cloud Centers of Excellence program, which will allow partners to set up cloud computing demo centres using HP hardware and software.
