Adobe previews Photoshop app for iPad 2

The iPad 2's new cameras might not be up to much, but a forthcoming app release from image manipulation expert Adobe could help to make your snaps look better.

The Photoshop for iPad app was briefly demonstrated at yesterday's Photoshop World conference, and the video posted by Photography Bay shows some pretty sophisticated editing capabilities, far beyond those of Adobe's previous offerings for apple's iDevices.

The finished product is highly unlikely to offer the same functionality of Adobe's full Photoshop package, which has become the industry standard for still-image trickery, but the short demo shows the ability to make composites of several images using layers and masks drawn with a few swipes of a finger.

There's no indication as yet of when the app will be released or how much it will cost as it's very much in development at the moment.
